Terms of Service

Last updated: May 8, 2026

Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of (1) the PureBox marketing and documentation website at purebox.app and related pages (collectively, the “Site”), and (2) the PureBox DNS resolution and filtering service made available at the resolver addresses, hostnames, and secure DNS endpoints published on the Site (the “DNS Service”). Together, the Site and the DNS Service are the “Services.”

By using any part of the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

PureBox (“PureBox,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) offers the Services as described on the Site. Additional practices regarding information are described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

What the Services are

Site. The Site provides general information about PureBox, setup instructions for common devices and browsers, and related downloads (such as configuration profiles). The Site is provided for convenience and may be updated or reorganized over time.

DNS Service. The DNS Service is a DNS resolver that applies filtering intended to reduce access to certain categories of harmful or adult-oriented content, consistent with PureBox’s mission described on the Site. DNS works by translating names (such as website addresses) into technical information your device needs to connect. When you configure a device or network to use PureBox, your DNS queries are handled by our infrastructure (and, where applicable, by subprocessors we use to operate the service) instead of your default resolver.

The DNS Service is offered without charge as part of PureBox’s ministry. We do not guarantee that the Services will meet your expectations, block every undesirable destination, or be suitable for every household or organization.

Eligibility and responsibility

You may use the Services only in compliance with applicable law. If you configure the DNS Service on behalf of others (for example, your family or a household network), you are responsible for obtaining any consent you need and for explaining how DNS settings work in plain terms.

You are responsible for correctly entering resolver addresses, hostnames, or secure DNS URLs shown in our documentation. Incorrect settings can disrupt internet access or send traffic elsewhere; follow instructions carefully and keep a way to revert changes (such as router defaults or removing a profile).

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services in any way that violates applicable law or infringes others’ rights.
  • Probe, scan, attack, overload, or attempt to disrupt or circumvent the security or integrity of PureBox systems, the DNS Service, or related networks—except reasonable troubleshooting of your own connection to the public resolver endpoints we publish.
  • Use the DNS Service to send abusive volumes of traffic, automate excessive queries in a way that harms operations, or resell or repackage the DNS Service as if it were your own commercial DNS product without our prior written consent.
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with PureBox or imply that we endorse any product, doctrine, or organization unless we have explicitly agreed in writing.

We may suspend or limit access to the Services if we reasonably believe these Terms or the law have been violated or if continued use poses risk to the Services or other users.

Changes, availability, and termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services (including filtering policies, resolver addresses, hostnames, or documentation) at any time, with or without notice, for operational, security, legal, or ministry reasons. We may also impose reasonable technical limits.

The Services are provided on a best-effort basis. Downtime, misconfiguration, upstream internet issues, or changes by third parties can affect DNS or the Site. You should not rely on the DNS Service as the only safeguard for yourself or others; combine it with healthy habits, supervision where appropriate, and device controls as needed.

Intellectual property

The Site’s text, layout, graphics, logos, and other content are owned by PureBox or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and print reasonable portions for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, scrape, or redistribute the Site in bulk, remove notices, or create a confusingly similar service using our branding.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

PureBox does not provide medical, legal, psychological, or pastoral counseling. Content on the Site is informational. Filtering and DNS cannot guarantee that no inappropriate material will ever appear on a device (for example, via apps, encrypted channels, or networks that bypass your DNS settings). You remain responsible for choices about devices, accounts, and accountability relationships.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PUREBOX AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100) OR (B) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO PUREBOX FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (WHICH IS TYPICALLY ZERO BECAUSE THE SERVICES ARE OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify PureBox and its operators against any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law.

General

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that courts in Bartow County, Georgia (or the appropriate federal court with jurisdiction) have exclusive jurisdiction for disputes arising from these Terms or the Services, except where prohibited by law.

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
