Welcome to PureBox!
I originally built PureBox in 2017 as a tool just for myself.
I had struggled with an addiction to pornography for over two decades, and needed a tool that would make the internet feel "temptation-free." After I was free of that addiction and started a family, PureBox gave me peace of mind knowing that I could protect my children from falling into temptation.
Later, a friend at church asked if he could use it, too. So I converted my original one-house-only solution into the cloud-based service that PureBox is today.
Now you can use PureBox on your all of your devices for FREE. I run PureBox as a ministry, not a business. My expenses are pocket-change, and my server bandwidth is generous enough to serve many thousands of users concurrently.
Now, you might be asking, "How does it work?"
PureBox Blocks Direct Access to Porn Sites
Temptation comes in many forms, including within ourselves. If you or a curious youngster in your house attempts to navigate directly to a pornographic site, PureBox stands in the way.
Rather than frustrating you with an antagonistic block page, your browser presents a basic "This site doesn't exist" message, giving you enough of a mental pause to reconsider and turn away from the temptation.
PureBox Blocks ALL Pornified Ads
The porn industry is a $5 BILLION market, and they reinvest a large portion of those profits in marketing designed to entice new "customers" (of all ages) and drag you back into sin when you're trying so hard to quit.
By blocking all online banner ads, PureBox destroys their power over you, leaving you free to browse your favorite sites without temptation.
PureBox Enforces Safe-Search, Everywhere, All the Time
Sad fact: search engines aren't designed to help you find what you're looking forward. They're designed to get you to click, because that's how they make money. So no matter what you search for, if you scroll far enough, you'll see pornified content.
PureBox changes the game. It puts search engines like Google into always-on SafeSearch mode, and forces YouTube into a restricted mode, so that if you aren't looking for porn, you won't find it.
PureBox Works on All of Your Devices
Because PureBox operates at the DNS (domain name service) layer—one of the basic building blocks of the internet—it will work in every browser and on every device: even protecting your entire home wifi network.
But you won't need to know the technical details to make PureBox work for you. I've broken down step-by-step how to configure PureBox on each of your devices in a "set it and forget it" sort of way.
Great! How Do I Get Started?
Take a look at the setup menu, and browse for the devices and browsers that you use every day. Then follow the step-by-step setup instructions to get connected with PureBox.
If you get stuck at any point, feel free to send me an email at [email protected], and I can answer any questions that you have. Or if you're local, I'm happy to meet somewhere for coffee (my treat!) and setup your devices for you myself.
