PureBox

Setup PureBox in Microsoft Edge

Edge can send the lookups it uses when you visit websites through PureBox instead of whatever your connection uses by default. That only applies while you are browsing in Edge—not other apps on the same computer or phone.

When Edge shows a box for a custom provider, paste this exactly (copy and paste is fine):

https://dns-us.purebox.app/dns-query

Turn on secure DNS in Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.
  2. Click the menu in the top-right corner, then click Settings. (Or type edge://settings/privacy in the address bar, press Enter, then continue below.)
  3. In the left sidebar, click Privacy, search, and services. (On a small window you may need to open the main menu first to see the sidebar.)
  4. Scroll to the Security section. Find Use secure DNS. Turn the switch on.
  5. Under the secure DNS options, choose Choose a service provider.
  6. Use the control for a custom address—often labeled Enter custom provider or Add custom DNS service provider, depending on your Edge version. Paste https://dns-us.purebox.app/dns-query into that field. You do not need to restart the browser.

If you do not see Use secure DNS to specify how to lookup the network address for websites, your copy of Edge may be older, or an organization may manage your browser and hide the setting. In that case, ask whoever supports your device, or set PureBox at the system or router level using the other guides here.
