PureBox

Setup PureBox on Windows 11

These steps change the DNS settings for the whole PC—every browser and app that uses a normal internet connection will ask PureBox when it needs to look up a site name. That is different from the browser-only guides (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave) in the sidebar, which only affect that one app.

When Windows asks for addresses, use two numbers: a preferred one and an alternate one. Copy and paste each line exactly into the matching boxes on your screen.

Preferred DNS

194.195.210.48

Alternate DNS

194.195.212.90

Point Windows 11 at PureBox

  1. Open Settings. A quick way is to press the Windows key and I at the same time. You can also open Start and click the gear icon.
  2. Click Network & internet.
  3. Open the page for how you actually connect:
    • Wi‑Fi: Click Wi‑Fi, then click the name of the network you are on right now (the one that shows as connected). If you land on a short summary, open Properties or Hardware properties for that network—wording varies slightly by PC.
    • Ethernet (wired): Click Ethernet. If you see your adapter listed again, click it so the detail page opens.
  4. Scroll until you find DNS server assignment, then click Edit. If you do not see that line, use the search box at the top of Settings, type DNS, and open the result that takes you to the same network detail page—then look for Edit next to DNS.
  5. In the menu at the top, choose Manual instead of Automatic.
  6. Turn IPv4 on. Leave IPv6 off unless you already know you need it.
  7. In Preferred DNS, paste 194.195.210.48. In Alternate DNS, paste 194.195.212.90.
  8. If you see DNS over HTTPS (or a very similar line about encrypted DNS), choose Off. That keeps things simple and matches how PureBox expects these two addresses to be used. If you do not see that option, skip this step.
  9. Click Save. You do not need to restart the PC; give it a few seconds and try a browser.

If Edit is grayed out, or the screen says an organization manages your network, a work or school profile may be locking DNS. In that case you will need whoever manages the device to allow a change, or use a browser-only guide instead. A VPN app can also override these settings while it is connected—if something still does not feel right, try disconnecting the VPN and checking again.
